john mellencamp - jack and diane

today's story! i donated blood. no big deal there - until i oh-so-intelligently decided to drink the chocolate milk. it was good at first - but all that sugar was a shock to my system after the blood loss. plus the change in blood pressure wasn't so great. at the special olympics last weekend, i almost had to rescue one of the swimmers. his blood pressure changed rapidly - he was sweating, his vision was all blurry, dizziness, all that. at the time it didn't sound so bad, but after experiencing it today, i completely understand where his panic was coming from. so, my head was all fucked up. plus the nausea from the sugar (and milk. i always forget that drinking straight milk messes with my stomach.) but that's not all! cramps like a bitch, painful as all hell, when i lay down flat i can feel the muscles trying to stretch and adjust.
so i went home. because it was pretty bad. and i've been wandering around all day in sweats i stole from work.
my mom is going in for another interview for some government job in olympia. i'm all for it - she deserves to move on up in the world, although honestly, accountants are accountants. what company you work for doesn't make too much of a difference. anyway, she and my dad are thinking about moving down to olympia next year if she gets the job. which is a good idea for them - smaller house since all the kids will be gone, and closer to both their jobs. so less gas money spent commuting. i think it's a great idea. it'll be weird, yeah, coming home to a place i've never lived in. leaving college and following printed directions to find my house. not knowing the area at all. not knowing anyone around. but it'll be cool too, because then i can disappear for a few days visiting friends. it'll be neat. good luck to them, i say. in the meantime, they're still reworking the house. my mom tore down the rest of the wallpaper in the kitchen, and just took down the paper in the bathroom and repainted it. they're putting in a new sink. with all the renovations they've done in the past few months, i'm kind of surprised they're thinking about moving out.
